Interim Business Development

Methodology

What to expect?

Innovative teams have the mandate to develop new business opportunities or validate existing ones. New business opportunities are to be found where three domains overlap:

  1. Clearly defined market needs
  2. Solutions that solve the identified problem or need
  3. Great fit of the solution and problem domain with the competences of the company

Strategic Opportunity

When searching for new opportunities, innovation teams need to consciously balance their activities on all three domains. This means that they need to find answers to specific questions for each of these domains. Detecting opportunities in new markets with new solutions is the most challenging as the uncertainty is high in all three domains. Innovation activities are therefore ideally focused on learning and reducing the uncertainties. The best approach is to organize these activities in an iterative manner, by focusing on learning and validating the most crucial questions and assumptions.
